Best Hybrid Strains

If you were not aware, most of the cannabis strains you will find available in seed banks, dispensaries, or coffee shops are officially classified as hybrids.

If you are not aware what the definition of a hybrid strain is, this is a strain of cannabis which contains sativa as well as indica genetics. This leads to them having a wide variety of effects, with the most popular indica body stone, or the cerebral sativa high.

Best Hybrid Strains

As you can imagine, the way a hybrid breed of cannabis is produced is by crossing a single strain of cannabis with another. An example of this is when a cannabis breeder will cross a strain which is sativa dominant with one which is indica dominant.

By cross pollinating these genetics will create a new hybrid strain. This means the strain can be classified as either a sativa dominant or an indica dominant strain, depending on if they contain more than 50% of indica or sativa.

So, if you are a fan of hybrid strains of cannabis, then this list includes some of our favorite hybrid strains of cannabis. So, keep reading if you want some recommendations for hybrid strains of cannabis (see also “Hybrid Strains: A Comprehensive Breakdown“)!

Our Favorite Hybrid Strains

We have included a wide variety of different strains on this list, so there should be a hybrid strain here for everyone. Make sure to read through our descriptions so you can find the best hybrid strain for you!

Jack Herer

If you have not heard of it, Jack Herer, is a cross of Northern Light #5, Haze, as well as Shiva Skunk. This is a balanced hybrid with an equal mix of indica and sativa, and this strain has been produced since the earlier years of the 1990s.

The strain itself was named after a friend of Ben Dronkers who was a famous activist for Cannabis, also called the Emperor of Hemp.

This hybrid strain has 4 primary phenotypes, with 3 of these being sativas and 1 being indica, this makes Jack Herer a fun strain to grow. This plant can grow very tall when planted in loose soil, and because of this it is able to produce quite a substantial yield.

This is because the buds of Jack Herer have a very dense structure, this means that by the time it is ready to harvest it is covered in sticky resin glands.

Jack Here is also known for having a great Terpene profile, this means it has a noticeable presence of terpinolene, pinene, and caryophyllene. The dried flowers of this plant have a strong skunky aroma, including undertones of lemon as well as pepper.

This strain is known to consumers for how soothing and uplifting the effects of this strain are. This is why it is such a popular daytime strain, and it leaves the user feeling uplifted and creative.

Fruity Juice

If you have not heard of Fruity Juice, this hybrid strain is almost balanced but slightly off with 55% sativa, and then 45% being indica.

This hybrid was introduced to the cannabis community all the way back in 1995, so it has been popular enough to still be produced now. This strain was created through the combination of a classic Afghan indica which is put with a Thai sativa.

This leads to it having an incredibly abundant harvest, as well as a tropical seeming palate.

You can only find this strain being made in regular seeds, and this means that the plant itself is able to produce male as well as females. Because of this people growing this strain will need to ensure that they sex the plant around the third or fourth week of its growth.

As well as this it is advised that when cultivating Fruity Juice, you do this outdoors, or in a greenhouse. This is because this strain is capable of growing up to 3 meters tall, and because of this, it gets a pretty substantial harvest!

If you are choosing to vaporize Fruity Juice, you will get hints of tropical fruits when vaping, as well as a hint of a spicier hashish, this makes this a very revitalizing experience to vape.

The high from Fruity Juice will start uplifting as well as cerebral, and this is an indication of the Thai heritage of the strain. Then his will gradually fade into a more soothing full body high which is an indicator of the Afghan lineage.

Guava Jelly

The hybrid strain Guava Jelly has made through crossing the Wedding Cheesecake strain with OG Kush, Durban, and Strawberry Kush.

This is another hybrid which is balanced 50/50, and on top of this, it has a relatively unique terpene profile, this is commonly compared to tropical punch.

This strain is also known for being a great producer of resin, and on top of this it is able to thrive when growing outdoors, especially when in a more Mediterranean climate.

When you grow Guava Jelly in a more loose soil, the strain will be able to reach a pretty impressive height, and because of this, Guava Jelly is able to reach a very large harvest.

If you want to get the best productivity from this strain, you will want to cultivate it under the sun. In spite of this though, you can grow Guava Jelly inside if you want, or in a greenhouse.

The plant you get from this strain will be slender and tall, and has longer branches which feature a heavy foliage.

As mentioned earlier, this strain has a pretty unique terpene profile which is very noticeable, this has myrcene, limonene, and caryophyllene dominant.

This is a slightly less balanced strain than Jack Here though with Jack Flash being 55% sativa and only 45% indica, and this was achieved through combining Super Skunk with Haze.

It is worth noting for beginners that you can only get Jack Flash as a regular strain, so you will not be able to get a male or female plant.

Jack Flash is well known for being able to reach some pretty extraordinary heights when grown outdoors, and per plant, you can get up to 600 grams. Because of these reports, you should not be surprised if your Jack Flash plant grows to be over 3 meters tall.

This strain is also quite resilient, able to grow longer branches, as well as buds which are densely packed. The flowering time is also quite long, getting up to 70 days. Due to its hazy heritage, it also flourished in a climate which has longer summers.
